Desert Music Festival in Spring

Yazd City, the capital of Yazd Province, plans to host a festival of desert music in spring. Yazd’s Department of Culture Ministry is organizing the ‘Festival of Desert Dweller’s Music’ and has called for submission of works, Honaronline reported.

The deadline for registration and submission of works is March 13. The works are to be delivered to the secretariat of the festival at the provincial office of the ministry located on Daneshjou Boulevard. The website of the office is Yazd.farhang.gov.ir.

Musicians from the provinces of Yazd, Kerman, Isfahan, South Khorasan and Semnan have already submitted their works. / Financial tribune /

Iranian relief foundation creates jobs, grants loans to the underprivileged

The Tehran Province Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation has created some 6,000 jobs and granted loans amounting to 700 billion rials (nearly $15.5 million) to the financially struggling families in the province over the current Iranian calendar year (March 21,2017 to March 20, 2018).

The foundation director general, Mohsen Valiee, has explained that the money was granted to the families to help them create jobs. “The sum is not very considerable but it has enabled some families to start small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).”

Some of those who have succeeded in establishing successful businesses using the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation loans are now helping the foundation to support other families who are in financial distress, ISNA news agency qouted Valiee as saying.

“In case some businesses fail we help them to get back on their feet by granting them loans again,” he highlighted.

The Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation is a charitable organization founded in March 1979 to provide support for poor families. The aim is to help such families regain financial stability. / Tehran times /

Chinese Company to Supply 630 Cars for Tehran Subway

China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation Changchun Railway Company (CRRC CRC) and Tehran Wagon Company have won the tender to build and supply 630 cars for Tehran’s Subway on Wednesday.

The project is worth more than €782.66 million and will be financed by the Chinese side, according to the director general of Urban Rail Transportation Bureau of Iran’s Urban and Rural Municipalities Organization affiliated to the Interior Ministry.

“We are negotiating to sign a contract as we speak. The Chinese company Norinco Group will function as the finance coordinator in this project,” Hossein Rajab Salahi told Financial Tribune on Saturday.

The official added that each wagon will cost close to €1.08 million freight on board, to which transportation and customs expenses will be added. / Financial Tribune /

Iranian freestyle wrestler takes over No. 1 in world rankings

According to the the website of United World Wrestling (UWW), Iranian wrestler Hassan Yazdani Charati has taken over top ranking in the 2018 world freestyle wrestling.

According to the UWW’s report on Thursday “Olympic champion Hassan Yazdani Charati (IRI), fresh off winning a gold medal at the Asian Championships in Bishkek, takes over the No.1 ranking at 86kg in freestyle.”

The same report went on to say “Mongolia has four No.1-ranked wrestlers in freestyle, which is more than any other nation.”

Other top-ranked wrestlers in freestyle include “Abbos Abbos Rakhmonov (UZB) at 61kg, Daulet Niyazbekov (KAZ) at 65kg, Ogbonna John (NGR) at 70kg, Rashid Kurbanov (UZB) at 79kg and Magomed Ibragimov (UZB),” the UWW’s report added. / Mehr news /

discussion on ‘International Women Day, Status & Rights of Women in Islam’

On the occasion of the Holy birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatema Zahra (A.) and Women Day, Iran Cultural Centre, Dhaka and Zahra Association, Bangladesh jointly organized a discussion and celebration program on ‘International Women Day, Status & Rights of Women in Islam’, on Friday, 9th March, 2018, 4.00 pm at the Convention Hall 71 of Daffodil International University.

Mrs. Jahanara Pervin, Executive Director (Additional Secretary), Jatio Mohila Shongstha, Ministry of Women & Children Affairs, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest while Mrs. Zeynab Vaezi, honourable wife of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangladesh and Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Head, Department of Law, Daffodil International University were present as Special Guests.

Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen Shahaboddin Mashaekhi Raad, Representative, Bangladesh Branch, Al-Mustafa International University was present as guest of honour.

Mrs. Selina Parveen, Chairperson of the Zahra Association presided over the program.

Poetry ‘Women’ from National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam recited by Amena Begum Labony and Nazrul song on Hazrat Fatema was presented by Shah Nawaz Tabib.

The speakers said that women were not in a very convenient and dignified position in the long history, and in many cases often different types of persecution and torture. Islam has freed women from that state. Islam has given women the right to participate in social, cultural and political fields. They can play an active role in these areas by maintaining the precise rules, purity and modesty of Islam.

The speakers also said that unlike Islamic education, there is always a lot of campaign against the rights and rights of women from western materialists. They want to bring back the lost rights of women. But unfortunately, in the name of free freedom, women are being turned into only one kind of products. They are bringing women towards modern slavery. So, we think that in this modern age, it is an important step in implementing the great aim of Islam to highlight the true personality and position of women.

Speakers have said about the position of women in Iran, the Islamic Republic has taken many important steps in establishing women’s rights and social status in the last four decades. Iranian women today continue to make important responsibilities in the family, in addition to making significant contributions to different areas of society including knowledge-science, culture, education and health, society and politics, sports, artwork.

It is to be noted that after the conquest of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the birth date of Fatima Jahra (RA), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the best in the universe, was announced as “Women’s Day” and from then on through various programs Women’s Day is being celebrated in the country.

In the meeting, Mr. Shah Nawaz Tabab, who performed Nazrul songs by Ameena Begum Laboni and Hazrat Fatimar Shaheed, recited from the poetry of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.

“Tabriz 2018” event to be inaugurated officially on 25 April, 2018

At the coordination meeting of” Tabriz 2018” programs, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, the honorary president of the national policy-making headquarter of “Tabriz 2018”, accompanied by the government representative, governor general of East Azerbaijan, mayor of Tabriz and representatives of the private sector, announced that the  official opening of “Tabriz 2018” event will be on 25 April, 2018.

Nematzadeh later said that “Tabriz 2018” event is a popular program and its benefits serve the private sector, hence, authorities should share the tasks with the private sector benefiting the fruitful outcomes.

Appreciating the programs which have been implemented before, Nematzadeh reminded that all the associated organs should coordinate and cooperate with each other at the national and international levels.

Referring to the potentials of Tabriz, he declared that Tabriz industries, especially those ones mixed with art such as carpet and shoe, are among Tabriz tourism attractions .consequently, required measures should be taken into consideration to lead the travel tours to visit such industries.

Indians to invest $2 billion in Iran’s port, railways

Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, who is accompanying President Rouhani on his trip to India, announced on Saturday that Indians have expressed their initial agreement to invest $ 2 billion in Iran’s ports and railways.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Ahmad Akhoundi said that Indians have expressed their initial agreement to invest in Iranian ports and railways network, adding that various issues in the port and rail areas will be finalized during Rouhani’s visit to India, and the joint venture with India in these two areas will reach about $2 billion through these projects.

The agreement was inked Friday in India’s capital New Delhi in the presence of Abbas Akhoundi, Iran’s minister of roads and urban development, and his Indian counterpart Nitin Gadkari. The project will be fully implemented within three years.

Gadkari, in turn, said the new trains will help transport passengers and freight in Iran, adding that “they will also be used in the Chabahar-Zahedan railroad to accelerate development of the Chabahar Port in line with India’s goal to connect to Central Asia and ultimately Europe through this Iranian port.”

He said that Iran’s cooperation with India in port and rails have been planned to take place in four categories. The two sides have already reached general agreement in this regard, and the agreements will be finalized during Rouhani’s current trip to India.

He said that one of the categories is India’s investment in Chabahar-Zahedan railway line. He stressed that this is an important and strategic railway line, which Iran wants to complete through cooperation with the Indians. He said that initial agreement has been reached for an amount of $800 million, and the agreement will be finalized and announced during Rouhani’s current trip to India.

He went on to say that Iran pursuing other important discussions with the Indians, such as joint production of locomotives. Initial agreements have already been reached to build a joint production of freight locomotive. This agreement would also be finalized and announced during Rouhani’s trip.

The construction of railway line in Isfahan Steel Mill, with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year, is another measure that would be undertaken in cooperation with the Indians. This would also be finalized during Rouhani’s trip.

Another joint project with the Indians to be finalized would be regarding the management of Chabahar Port. Indians would investment $87 million in this project. A temporary contract will be concluded in this area under which the Indians would be deployed there until the arrival of the equipment enters and their full investment takes place there.

4500-year-old antique trophy uncovered in Jiroft

Public and Revolution Prosecutor Hossein Salami revealed the discovery of a 4,500-year-old antique trophy in Jiroft, Kerman province.

An antique trophy, related to the Stone Age, which is in the form of a handbag was recently discovered in one of the villages in suburb of Jiroft.

This antique object, dating back to 4500 years ago, was uncovered at the unsparing and unflinching effort of police and intelligence forces in Jiroft, he said, adding, “in this respect, three accused persons were identified.”

Investigation is underway about following up the case meticulously, he maintained.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the public prosecutor reiterated, “this antique object was inspected by the expert official in provincial Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization.”

This trophy is of qualitative marble shape related to the Stone Age which is as high as 28cm with 28-cm width and as diameter as eight centimeters at large, Salami emphasized.

He said that judicial system will deal with smugglers of antique objects decisively within the framework of rules and regulations. / Mehrnews /

Iranian film show ends on Wednesday

The six-day long Iranian film show will end on Wednesday at the auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum. Two movies — ‘Cling Up’ dubbed in Bangla by Golam Hossain and ‘Today’ by Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi — will be screened on the last day of the film show.

The film festival began on Thursday with the screening of famous Iranian film ‘Body Guard’ directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia.

The Iran Cultural Centre’s Dhaka chapter and Bangladesh National Museum jointly arranged the film show on the occasion of the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (National Day).

‘Sweet Taste of Imagination’ produced by Mohammad-Ali Hossein-Nezhad, and ‘Trik’ by Iraj Ghaderi, dubbed in Bangla, were screened on Saturday (Feb 10) while the audience enjoyed ‘Fourth Child’ by Vabid Mosiayan and ‘Earthquake’ by Sairus Alvando, dubbed in Bangla on Sunday (Feb 11).

‘Crazy Look’ by Abul Hasan Boudi and Kiumars Pourahmad’s latest drama ‘Where are my shoes’ will be screened on February 12 while the screening of ‘A Cube of Sugar’ by Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi and ‘Golchehreh’ by Vahid Shamsaei was held on February 13.

The movies will be screened with Bangla dubbing and English subtitles at 11am and 3pm every day. The show is free for all.
