Iranian films \u201cThe Descendants\u201d and \u201cZaferanieh, near Sunset\u201d have won awards at the Pambujan International Film Festival in the Philippines.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Descendants\u201d directed by Yaser Talebi won one two best film awards of the festival in the competition for the full-length narrative films last Friday.<\/p>\n

In this drama, Jacob\u2019s family worries about Farrokh, the son of the family. Farrokh left Iran to continue his studies but he has not been in touch with them for a long time. Jacob travels to Sweden to look for his son.<\/p>\n

\u201cZaferanieh, near Sunset\u201d, a drama on drug addiction in Tehran directed by Mohammad Kharratzadeh, received one of the two runner-up awards in this category.<\/p>\n

The Russian war drama \u201cThe Final Stand\u201d directed by Vadim Shmelyov was the other winner of the best film award.<\/p>\n

The film is about the incredible self-sacrifice of the Podolsk cadets in defense of their country in October 1941 near Moscow. The cadets of the Podolsk artillery-infantry schools are ordered to take up defenses on the Ilyinsky line.<\/p>\n

The other runner-up award in the narrative films category went to \u201cTutuge\u201d directed by Virlanwana Langgong from Indonesia.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce Upon a Time on All Hollows\u2019 Eve\u201d by Jaroslaw Gogolin from the UK, \u201cThe Herald and the Horror\u201d by Jayvee Margaja from the Philippines and \u201cBoxer Blood and Sweat\u201d by Nima Nadaf from Germany were also honored with third best film prizes.<\/p>\n

The awards for best documentary films were given to \u201cThe Wounded Souls of the Rann\u201d by Dinesh Lakhanpal from India and \u201cPuso Ng Pinoy Bboy\u201d by Clifton Abuan from the United States.<\/p>\n

Built Lands directed by Arturo Due\u00f1as Herrero from Spain and \u201cWherever We May Be\u201d by Adrian Ellis Alarilla, Jed Yabut, Joseph Unsay, Kenneth Cardenas, Pat R., Pauline M. and Zo\u00e9 Ciela Guenne from the United States won the runner-up awards in the documentary films category.<\/p>\n
