Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday that his Chinese counterpart agreed Iran has undergone a significant transformation after the war, achieving a higher international status and demonstrating its capability and authority.
Speaking after a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing, Araghchi outlined the main axes of their discussions.
“Our Chinese friends also believe that post-war Iran is different from pre-war Iran. It has achieved an elevated international standing and has proven its power and authority,” Araghchi said. “Therefore, a new period of cooperation between Iran and other countries lies ahead.”
Araghchi said that he and his Chinese counterpart discussed all current issues, including the US-Israeli-imposed war against Iran and how to end it, the ongoing negotiations, matters related to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, sanctions, all bilateral issues, and the situation of the Strait of Hormuz and the need to respect Iran’s rights.
Araghchi arrived in the Chinese capital early on Wednesday, leading a diplomatic delegation.
