TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei declared on Wednesday that the memory of the 165 children and teachers martyred in a US-Israeli airstrike on a school in Minab will “forever remain etched in the heart of Iran.”

Baqaei said in post on X that the “innocent angels” were buried in a solemn ceremony a day after the US-Israeli attack.

“The precious lives of these innocent children were mercilessly cut short by genocidal killers, but their memory will live on forever in the heart of Iran,” he wrote.

The attack occurred at dawn on February 28, as US and Israeli regime forces launched an “illegal and unprovoked war” against the country.

A barrage of missiles struck the Shajareh Tayebeh elementary and preschool in Minab, Hormozgan province, killing 165 students and teachers.

Iranian officials have condemned the strike as a deliberate act of genocide against civilians, vowing to hold those responsible accountable.

The tragedy has sparked widespread mourning across Iran, with public ceremonies and tributes held for the children by people.
